To me, working in healthcare is a way to use my skills altruistically. I hope that my financial, analytical, and operational skills can positively affect the lives and experiences of the many patients who walk through the doors of our clients’ facilities. I’ve always admired the selflessness of physicians, nurses, and front-line staff who devote their lives to healing patients. To me, the best way to serve these patients is to serve the providers, making their jobs easier, clearer, and more efficient.

Steve’s ability to blend a granular understanding of data with a big-picture mentality helps his clients gain a comprehensive understanding of their challenges and make informed decisions that result in successful outcomes. Steve has an established track record of increasing operating efficiency and improving patient access, and his clients value his solutions for generating revenue and improving cost savings. His experience in patient access, ambulatory operations, patient engagement and satisfaction, contact centers, and financial outcomes positions him to address a wide variety of challenges facing physician groups, hospitals, and health systems today.

At ECG, Steve’s projects have focused on ambulatory operations improvement. Steve has led multiple health systems to reinvent their approach to access, scheduling, and referral manage-ment, and standardizing this approach across the health system. Steve has been part of launching and optimizing multiple large, multi-disciplinary contact centers with services across the spectrum of patient care. His work also includes planning a nursing contact center for a rural health system with nearly 1,000 providers and creating an operational and financial model for a telehealth program with over 23 offerings across seven service lines. In his work, Steve has shown proficiency in using financial and operating modeling to develop unique solutions for complex problems. He has also led Lean-based design events to optimize work flows, served as project manager for clients’ training and implementation teams, and facilitated strategic retreats for physicians and administrators.
