As the leader of ECG’s Activation and Transition Planning practice, Kyrsten understands the full arc of services required to plan for, coordinate, and execute the successful activations of new facilities. In addition to collaborating with hospital executives and staff, Kyrsten has worked closely with architects, engineers, construction firms, and owner representatives, which gives her valuable insight into a new facility’s project continuum. She also is a firm believer in utilizing technology to manage activation projects so staff can navigate through the workload yet stay focused on patient care. After spending much of her childhood in a hospital bed being cared for by a dedicated staff, Kyrsten knows firsthand what staff deal with day in and day out, and she feels that no client should have to go through an activation alone.

Before joining ECG, Kyrsten worked on site at City of Hope’s Comprehensive Cancer Center with a nine-person consulting team to activate over $1.2 billion in projects on two campuses. As the director of transition and activation at Mazzetti, Kyrsten regularly presented to owners, designers and builders to educate them on the full scope of activation programs and how proper medical equipment planning, IT planning, and sound procurement processes are critical to successfully opening a facility. As a program director at Kitchell/FDI Planning Consultants, she pushed the firm’s transition program into a cloud-based application, increasing project efficiencies by 60%. She also led the business planning strategy and marketing efforts for all the firms’ service lines and developed company-wide strategic initiatives to engage employees in the process. Kyrsten also cofounded a women-owned healthcare consulting firm specializing in transitions that activated over four million square feet of new healthcare facilities on over $4.2 billion in construction projects across the United States.
